Beyonce and Jay Z’s early collaboration is this week’s throwback track.
Yesterday, we were given further confirmation that a collaborative album from Jay Z and Beyonce was on its way, so in honor of Throwback Thursday, we’ve decided to revisit one of the couple’s very first musical collaborations.
Following the 2002 Tupac-sampling ’03 Bonnie & Clyde, Bey and Jay pushed dating rumors further when they came together for Bey’s debut solo single, “Crazy In Love”. The record introduced many to the raw instrumentation of Rich Harrison, who would later produce hits like Amerie’s “1 Thing,” Jennifer Lopez’s “Get Right,” as well as countess bangers on Yonce’s sophomore triumph, B’Day. Most importantly, it solidified the creative partnership between two incredibly influential artists, who have released plenty of hits since, and you know, had a baby. Their collaborative album is rumored to drop on Tidal in the future, so keep an eye out.
